New Cruise Job
I said I’d never do it.
But its much different this time, so I took a new job on a cruise ship. I’ll be cruising the Hawaiian islands as a guest performer from April to at least July, and perhaps longer.
I have guest status, at least for the beginning of the gig. The bread is great, the job is easy. I’m guaranteed to only work 2 days a week, and even then, only at night. Most importantly, maybe, I only have to go out for 3 months. 3 months is cake! No trouble there!
Also – there are zero sea days, as far as I see on the schedule. No sea days! Wow!
Can you believe all this? Just about everything I didn’t like about the first gig is not included on this gig. I’m actually really looking forward to starting this whole thing.
I’m told that the ship is sold-out for the entire time I’m out there. So far, then, it doesn’t look like I’ll be able to get L. or my folks, or other family members out there with me. Part of the thing I like about traveling to wicked nice places is having using it as an excuse for people to come have a wicked nice vacation. I get a kick out of it. Maybe people will cancel and I’ll be able to get them on once I’m out there.
I’m going to get a killer tan.

The “guest” musician slot sounds like it could be interesting. Is this a paid or non-paid position?
Paid – I made $1,000/wk.
