I found an article today from a cruise ship captain explaining how to find employment on a cruise ship. The article seems accurate to me, but its rather poorly written. Note the run-on sentence:

“If they are accepted at their interview with a representative of a particular cruise line they cannot choose the cruise ship or the trading area but must strictly comply with the requirements of the Cruise Line which hired them.”

According to the article, this is a complete paragraph.

My apologies to the captain, but I can’t help but point out the irony that “speak good English” is one of the requirements he lists for the job.
