Some songs that were successful for my acoustic group:

Brown Eyed Girl
Amie
Anything by the Beatles
Margaritaville
Shanty
Ventura Highway
Dixie Chicken

...that's all I can think of at the moment.

I imagine I am WAY older than you, but I'll give it a try. Like you I am a bass player first, but I play just enough acoustic guitar to be a songwriter and I used to play solo gigs with just me and a guitar. Thinking in terms of what works pretty easily with just one guitar and a vocal and in my case, a vocal range of only 1&1/2 octaves and what gets a good audience response from a typical audience:

Fire and Rain - James Taylor
American Pie - Don Mclean
Sundown - Gordon Lightfoot
America - Simon & Garfunkle
Good Time Charlie's Got the Blues - ?
Please Come to Boston - Dave Loggins
King of the Road - Roger Miller
Mr. Bojangles - JJW
Blue Eyes Cryin' In the Rain - Willie Nelson
Solitary Man - Neil Diamond
Amarillo By Mornin'- Terry Stafford, George Strait
Anything by Jim Croce
Danny's Song - Kenny Loggins
Good Old Boys Like Me - Don Williams
Pancho & Lefty - Townes VanZandt
City of New Orleans - Steve Goodman
If You Could Read My Mind - Gordon Lightfoot
California Dreamin' - Mamas and Papas

That's all I have for now

Good luck,
Bill

I liked the top 100 piano bar song list.

I'm a bass player that is also an amateur guitarist/singer and I'm interested in going solo just so I can have some gigs without having to have a band or someone to accompany.

I've been searching the web for help with repertoire, but theres not much out there and from what I see the majority of guitarist/singers play originals.

It always depends on your audience etc. and really its how the singer interprets the song (especially if its not an acoustic type thing originally), but if we think of a general audience what kind of list could we come up with similar to the Piano bar thing.
