Asia - Hotel gigs

(2 posts)
  1. Hey guys,

I've heard many times about the abundant possibilities of employment for musicians in asian hotels. My own piano teacher told me that he had that gig for a while when he started out, and lucked out because he knew the lady who was hiring for some hotels back in the day. How does it work now? Is there a specific agency I should address myself to? Any of you have taken that kind of job before and know how it works?

    Thanks!

  2. Sorry Andree-Ann, I don't know if anybody can help you. There's a big language barrier to getting into Asia I think. What you're looking for is an entertainment/talent agency in Japan (or whatever country). I bet if you kept google-ing you could find some leads.

I would focus on Japan, Taiwan, Singapore, South Korea to start. I may be wrong, but those are the countries with the strongest ties to North America. I'd start with Japan because the Yen is so strong and they already have things like Tokyo Disney.

It's an interesting idea. I had some friends work at Tokyo Disney (speaking of) over the years and they say it was great.
