I've been hired to accompany a high school spring choral concert. There are 15 pieces of music that are mostly easy to intermediate in difficulty. It's a pretty big school so they're not lacking in funds I imagine. The school is in Alabama in the greater Birmingham area and I am located about 20-30 mins away. I am required to be there for the dress rehearsal and the performance the next day. I may possibly go up for an extra rehearsal before the dress rehearsal.
What is a good price to charge as their accompanist for this event? I have no idea what ballpark range to aim for. I feel like maybe something in the $400 range. But then I'm worried that since I'm only actually there for two days (dress and performance) that that seems like to much. On the other hand it's a lot of music and I'm worried that I'm cutting myself short. I've accompanied a high school musical before and got $1000 for the whole thing but that included 3 weeks of rehearsal and performance time.
Any thoughts?
