Must one have a music degree to secure a performing job on board (provided he/she can perform as good as those music degree holders if not better)? If not, would the lack of a music degree limit the size of one's paycheck?

How about, generally in the music industry, is music degree an imperative?

I don't have a degree in music. I have found that it has been problematic to get to the highest levels of my industry (in my case, Broadway), not necessarily because of the degree, but perhaps because I'm at a disadvantage without the connections I would have gotten from getting the degree. Does that make since?

To get on a cruise ship? No problem. You don't need a degree for that – or at least I didn't when I was on.

No, you don't need a degree to work as a cruise ship musician. BUT, I strongly urge musicians to look into it because the knowledge I learned in college was INVALUABLE to do my gig here on the ships. It definitely helped.

To make music studio management a lot easier, more convenient and fun, you need to establish within yourself some necessary skills and qualifications that can help you achieve your goals at your own pace and preferred time. The following are some essentials of good and effective music studio management. A studio manager has to be:
A Good Leader and Communicator.
Empathetic.
Enthusiast.
An Effective Listener and a Mentor.
