Hey all,
I'm finally doing it - going to London to be a musician! I signed up with this organisation that places teachers in schools in London, and since I have experience teaching French and Music, they thought I'd be a great teaching assistant. So here I am, overwhelmed by thought of moving over the big pond, I shall say, but extremely excited to finally do it!
I've read many many times David's article about moving to the big city (even though I'm already in the quite big city of Toronto)and am feeling confident on what I should be doing to get some music work (lets face it, the teaching assistant gig has nothing to do with music, which is kind of a bummer but hey, its a guaranteed position on arrival) and am focus on not getting distracted by London itself and the need to pay my bills with a crappy day job.
My question to you guys is the following; if any of you have ever had gigs in the UK or even lived there of course - where would be the best place to either buy a used keyboard or rent one on long-term? I abandonned the idea of carrying my beloved Yamaha P-90 with me, which saddens me incredibly as I love this machine and had it for many years, so am I trying to see what would be my best option; renting, buying, or finding practice studios?
Any help is more than welcomed! Thanks!
