Travelling with a keyboard

Hey all,

I am considering registering for one of those "work abroad" programs after Christmas to check out Europe for a bit and try to get some gigs and contracts over there.

What I'm wondering is, what is the easiest solution to bring a full 88-key keyboard? I will obviously need a hard flight case - which company have you guys tried and loved? Also, how can I make the stand fit in there? I don't care about the bench, I can buy a cheap one once im over there, but im wondering about the stand.

Also, what kind of extra charge am I looking at to register my keyboard as a luggage?

The pioneering electro-punk project led by American producer James Murphy returns with a third album seeped in splurging synths and frantic beats. Opener Dance Yourself Clean is a thrilling highlight, all ecstatic bleeps and irresistible rhythms, while Pow Pow is a piece of hypnotic genius. The haunting piano of Somebody's Calling Me is also compelling. The formula is less effective though when veering towards the Bowie-lite Drunk Girls and the leaden All I Want. However, this is an energetic and excellent return to the fray. Well worth a listen.

SKG has good cases. And Gator cases are good - but heavier.

You'll have to check in the airline about what the charge will be. I think it's different for each of them? Dunno.

My best advice, though, would be not to travel with the keyboard. It's just too big and heavy for travel. Buy one when you get there and sell it before you come back.

Or try to find a church or school that has a piano and will let you practice there during the week. I always had luck with churches when I was traveling more.
